Viscount News: Record breaking performance at archery competition

Viscount Archery Club members competed in the Saskatchewan Archery Association Outdoor Target and Field Provincials. Kenny came away with a gold medal and broke the SAA Provincial Record.

A little wow on this heat! Hopefully as we enter into the month of September it cools down some. Hopefully everyone that is enjoying the September long has a safe and happy weekend.

Viscount Archery Club members competed in the Saskatchewan Archery Association Outdoor Target and Field Provincials. This year provincials were hosted by Thunderhead Archers(Delisle), Kenny, Willem, Jacob, Carl, Dylan and Wayde attended the Target Provincials on Aug. 6. Kenny came away with a gold medal and broke the SAA Provincial Record.

Willem also earned gold along with setting a new open record. Jacob and Wayde both received gold medals and set new open records.  Carl took home a silver medal and Dylan placed fourth.

Sunday, Aug. 7, 2022 was the Field Archery event. Archers walk a path to various sized target faces set at different distances and angles. Willem, Carl, Dylan, Wayde and Jacob attended the Field competition. Willem earned a gold medal and set a new open record, Carl and Jacob also earned  gold medals. Wayde took home a silver medal and Dylan placed fifth.

Earlier this summer Wayde and Dylan attended the SAA Outdoor 3D Provincials hosted by All Nations Archery. They placed sixth and 11th. Congratulations archers, good shooting!

A few Viscount Archery Club members are currently participating in Archery Canada's Outdoor Mailmatch that runs until the end of September. Indoor season will begin in the next few months. Our Junior Olympic Program (ages 6-21) will run again this fall.
