THE BATTLEFORDS — Battlefords RCMP responded to 574 calls for service Wednesday, Oct. 12 through Tuesday, Oct. 18.

• Police responded to a 911 call on St Laurent Drive in North Battleford shortly after midnight on Oct. 12. There was a report of an argument and physical altercation between two persons at the residence. The victim was located and confirmed assault. No injuries during incident. A 20-year-old man arrested on scene was later released, to appear Oct. 20 on charges of assault and failure to comply with a release order.
• Shortly after 4 a.m. Oct. 14, police called to Deans Crescent in North Battleford for a report of a male suspect who had assaulted a woman and was smashing windows at a residence. A 24-year-old man was arrested near the residence and has since been released from custody on charges of assault, mischief and uttering threats.
• 911 call received from a residence on 21st Street in Battleford at 6:30 a.m. Oct. 15. Female caller requested police and call was disconnected. Police located a woman at the residence suffering facial injuries. A 25-year-old man was located and arrested inside the residence and taken into custody. He was remanded into custody to appear Oct. 17 in provincial court on charges that include assault, forcible confinement, sexual assault, breach of probation and failing to comply with a release order. The suspect and the victim were known to each other.
• 911 call to a residence on the Red Pheasant First Nation shortly before midnight on Oct. 15. A woman and young child reported to have been assaulted by a man at the residence. Both observed to have minor injuries. A 30-yea-old man was arrested on scene. He has since been released from custody, set to appear on Nov. 3 on two charges of assault and breach of probation. A
• Police called to a disturbance at a residence on the Saulteaux First Nation at 8 p.m. Oct. 14. A subject wanted on several outstanding warrants was observed trying to flee and was taken into custody. The accused became violent during the arrest and kicked one of the arresting members before being secured. The 29 -year-old was remanded into custody and appeared on Oct.17 on outstanding warrants and new charges of assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest and failing to comply with a release order.
• A call of a woman attacking an employee of a business on 100th Street in North Battleford shortly after 3:30 p.m. Oct. 12. The suspect was confronted when attempting to leave with unpaid merchandise and struck the victim in the face with a Red Bull can. The 27-year-old woman was held for court the next day charged with assault with a weapon, mischief and breach of probation.
• Call of a disturbance at a residence on the 1300 block of 103rd Street in North Battleford at 10:40 p.m. Oct. 18. Police located a man in his 40s suffering from injuries to his face hiding in the basement of the residence. A 47-year-old woman was arrested on scene and has been charged with assault causing bodily harm.
Seven break and enter investigations
• A 48-year-old man was arrested and charged with break and enter after a report of a suspect entering a vacant property on the 1600 block of 99th Street in North Battleford at 5 p.m. Oct. 18.
• Break and enter to a residence on the 200 bock of 18th Avenue in North Battleford shortly after 5 p.m. Oct. 18. A suspect has since been identified, the matter is still under investigation and charges are currently pending.
• Break and enter to a residence reported at 4:30 p.m. Oct. 13 on the 1300 block of 104th Street in North Battleford. Televisions, lawn mower and tools among items reported missing.

A report was received at 10:30 p.m. Oct. 12 of a vacant home being struck several times by unknown persons firing a gun on the 1500 block of 105th Street in North Battleford. One other round was also found to have hit a second residence, which is occupied. No one was injured in the second home. Matter remains under investigation.
