Innovation Credit Union says it is accepting donations for the Red Cross from anyone wishing to help with the local flood relief in Saskatchewan.
A June 23 press release says the Red Cross Severe Weather Response Fund will be used to address the urgent and essential recovery needs of the most vulnerable flood-affected residents. The southwest, particularly Maple Creek, has been hit hard.
According to the Innovation news release, the Red Cross has been actively responding alongside local authorities since the crisis began.
Saskatchewan's credit unions will be assisting in collecting donations for victims affected by the flood situation, beginning immediately and continuing until July 22.
According to Innovation EVP of Marketing and Human Resources Pat Friesen, donations are being accepted at all branch locations.
"I'm sure everyone has seen news footage, received e-mail photos or video footage of the devastating impact the floods have had on Saskatchewan communities," she said.
"I have the utmost faith that the generosity of Saskatchewan residents will once again shine and that people will assist the flood victims any way they can."
