NORTH BATTLEFORD - The Dekker Centre for the Performing Arts has announced it is implementing a temporary masking mandate until the end of April 2022.

In a statement the Dekker Centre says it is imposing the measure because of the proximity of people while attending events.

"Throughout the pandemic, our goal has been to entertain and present performing arts in a fun and safe environment," the Dekker Centre has stated. "Our goal is to mitigate risk to our patrons, artists, staff, and volunteers, and still welcome as many people as we can into the facility."

The Dekker Centre states it will review this policy and make changes as needed, while they continue to navigate this wave of the pandemic.

The province had earlier announced that it would not be renewing its indoor masking mandate which was set to expire at the end of February. Earlier, the Dekker Centre announced it was lifting its proof of vaccination/proof of negative test requirement as of Feb. 14, in line with the provincial changes to the Public Health order.
