More than $15,000 worth of items stolen from Humboldt home

HUMBOLDT — A Humboldt home was broken into. Police believe the value of the items and cash stolen is in excess of $15,000.

Humboldt RCMP said they were dispatched to the scene, located on the 10200 block of Sixth Avenue, in the evening hours of July 12. RCMP said they believe the crime occurred between 9:30 a.m. on July 10 and 5:30 p.m. on July 12.

Police said they continue to investigate with the assistance of the Saskatoon RCMP Forensic Identification Section.

This is the second home to be broken into in the last week. Another home on the 1200 block of 13 Street had a break, enter and theft between 10:30 p.m. on July 12 and 6 a.m. on July 13. Humboldt RCMP said it’s unknown if the two are related.

“RCMP want to remind the residents to ensure they take proactive measures by securing their residence and property also to report any suspicious activity they observe immediately to the police,” they said in a statement.
