HUMBOLDT — Know of somebody that’s made an extraordinary contribution to Humboldt and area in the past year that deserves to be recognized by the community at large?
Nominations are open for Humboldt’s Citizen of the Year and Junior Citizen of the Year for 2022. The two awards are organized by the Humboldt Journal annually.
“Our community is the way it is today because there's volunteers out there putting their all into improving it,” said Devan Tasa, the Journal’s publisher. “It's important to recognize those people.”
Nominations can be filled out online, or a form can be picked up at the Humboldt Journal office, which is now in the RE/MAX building at 639 Main Street. Nominations are due on Friday, Jan. 28
“Taking the time to fill out a nomination is the least we can do for those that work endless hours to make our community even better,” Tasa said.
Those receiving the awards will then be selected by a group of judges and announced at the Humboldt and District Chamber of Commerce’s Mark of Excellence awards on Wednesday, March 30.
