Saskatchewan Health Authority is alerting the public of a COVID-19 outbreak.

CUT KNIFE - The Saskatchewan Health Authority has declared a COVID-19 outbreak in Cut Knife Community School.

The school is part of Living Sky School Division. According to correspondence from Medical Health Officer Dr. Mandiangu Nsungu, dated Oct. 16, public health staff are investigating “multiple cases of COVID-19” at the school.

According to the SHA correspondence, when an outbreak has been declared it is assumed that there is an ongoing risk of exposure within the score and a schoolwide notification may not be sent with each additional case in the school during the outbreak.

The following additional measures are being implemented to control the outbreak:

Grade 6 is moving to remote learning starting today Oct. 18, and continuing through Oct. 29, 2021.

As well, Dr. Nsungu is asking that all pupils and staff be tested for COVID-19. This is to allow early detection in isolation of those who may be infected but it’s still asymptomatic. Depending on the evolution of the outbreak this measure may be repeated at a later stage according to Dr. Nsungu.
