Saskatchewan man banned for life from using internet

ESTEVAN  - A 32-year-old Saskatchewan man has been banned from the internet for life and sentenced to 42 months in prison.

Kyle Mansil Fiddler must also be on the sex offender registry for life, provide his DNA to the National DNA Data Bank, and have no contact with youth under the age of 16.

Fiddler was sentenced in Estevan Provincial Court June 15 and was given 15 months and nine days credit for time served in pretrial custody.

Fiddler was arrested in October 2020 after the Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation Unit (ICE) obtained a search warrant for his Estevan home. They say they found child porn and seized a cell phone and computer for further forensic analysis.

Police say in August they received numerous complaints that someone was distributing child porn on social media. The investigation traced the alleged crimes to Fiddler’s residence in Estevan. 

Fiddler was previously released on bail in November 2020 but rearrested and charged with assaulting a peace officer. 

Fiddler arrested in N. B'ford on Toronto charges

According to court records, the 2020 failing to comply with an order of prohibition charge stems from a 2011-12 Toronto Police file where Fiddler was banned from using a computer to communicate with youth under the age of 16. He was accused of sexually assaulting a four-year-old girl in her home between January and November of 2011.

After being charged in Ontario in 2011, Fiddler fled back to Saskatchewan. In November 2011, Toronto Police released Fiddler’s photo to the public and issued an appeal for information on his whereabouts. Fiddler turned himself into Battlefords RCMP in December 2011. In April 2012 Fiddler pleaded guilty to three counts of sexual interference and sentenced to 45 day in jail.
