Saskatoon police lay charges in 2020 homicide

Three years ago, on Sept. 15, 2020, the remains of 23-year-old Eagleson Thomas were located in a residence in the 400 block of Avenue G South.

SASKATOON – Police say they have arrested and charged two people in connection with the 2020 historical homicide of Eagleson Thomas.

On May 28, a 27-year-old woman was arrested by the Edmonton Police Service in Edmonton, Alta., on a warrant related to the homicide. She was transported to Saskatoon and arrested into the custody of the Saskatoon Police Service before appearing in court on May 29. The woman was charged with being an accessory after the fact to murder.

On June 5, a 41-year-old man was arrested by the Prince Albert Police Service in Prince Albert on a warrant related to the homicide. He was transported to Saskatoon, arrested into the custody of the Saskatoon Police Service, and was scheduled to appear in court on June 6. He has been charged with first-degree murder.

Three years ago, on Sept. 15, 2020, the remains of 23-year-old Eagleson Thomas were located in a residence in the 400 block of Avenue G South. It was determined that he had been the victim of homicide. Thomas was confirmed to have last been seen on Aug. 14, 2020, in Saskatoon and a missing person’s report was made on Sept. 10, 2020.
