PRINCE ALBERT – A young offender accused of killing 36-year-old Troy Watson in 2020 is back in court July 27 to enter a plea.
The youth, who can’t be identified in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act, and 21-year-old Roy Lasas were arrested in January following a lengthy investigation by RCMP Major Crime Unit as well as officers from Meadow Lake, Shellbrook, and Prince Albert detachments. The RCMP Yorkton GIS also assisted.
Lasas has a preliminary hearing scheduled for Aug. 12 in Prince Albert Provincial Court.
Watson was found deceased at a home on Mistawasis First Nation Nov. 17, 2020.
The charges against Lasas and the young offender haven’t been tested in court.
