Youth dealing with charges after stabbing in Saskatoon

SASKATOON - A teenager is facing charges following a stabbing in Saskatoon early Monday morning.

On Aug. 5, at about 1:20 a.m. police were called to the 3000 block of Diefenbaker Drive for a weapons complaint. Further information stated there was a confrontation involving a knife.

Officers found a male matching the description of the suspect; a short foot chase ensued before officers were able to arrest him. After investigating, officers found a knife at the location of the arrest.

Police then located the female victim suffering from what were believed to be non-life-threatening injuries consistent with a stab wound. The victim was taken to hospital for further medical attention.

As a result, a 15-year-old male youth is facing charges relating to possession of a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, robbery, and breaching court ordered conditions.
