PRINCE ALBERT - A firearm and two machetes were seized after the Prince Albert Police Service responded to a weapons call early Sunday morning.
At approximately 12:25 a.m. on Jan. 19, police were called to a business in the 2700 block of 2nd Avenue West in Prince Albert for a weapons complaint.
The initial call information stated a male had a firearm in his backpack.
Arriving officers quickly located a male matching the suspect's description outside the business where he was detained for a weapons investigation.
After further investigation, officers searched the suspect’s backpack and located a firearm, ammunition and two machetes.
The 28-year-old man was arrested and has been charged with careless use of a firearm and carrying a concealed weapon (x4).
