SASKATOON - Police are investigating following an assault on the weekend in Saskatoon.
At approximately 8:10 p.m. on March 8, police were called to the 1200 block of Junor Avenue for a report of an altercation. Upon arrival, officers located a man that was visibly injured.
Further investigation by police determined that a man known to him had struck him in the face with a can of bear spray before proceeding to slash him with a machete; the suspect then fled the area. The victim was transported to the hospital by Medavie Health Services West with what were believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspect has not been arrested but police are continuing to investigate.
