Pool fundraising, new ice plant are included in Wilkie monthly mayor report

Wilkie mayor, David Ziegler, provides details on upcoming activity in his monthly mayor report

WILKIE - With the end of September and the beginning of October starting things are keeping busy here in the town of Wilkie.

With the finishing of the new ice plant for the Wilkie Saskcan Community Centre plans are in full swing to have the start up to the 2021-22 season happen by Oct. 12. This is in order to make sure our newly refurbished ice plant is working properly.

Put your cowboy boots and hats on because the infamous Louisiana Hayride, reining in from Scott, will be performing here in Wilkie in November. The tickets are on sale now through the Wilkie Town Office and the money raised in this event will be going toward the new pool fund. Proof of vaccination is required for this event. Anyone wanting further information on this event is asked to call the Town of Wilkie office during business hours.

Wilkie will be hosting a fall tradeshow at the Saskcan Community Centre scheduled for December. If you are wanting to have a table at the show please contact Lori Fenrich at the Town of Wilkie Office.

Please, when visiting businesses in town, be diligent and wear your masks, sanitize your hands and make sure to obey all public health orders so we all can continue to stay safe.
