A water main break at Unity Union Hospital forced the Hospital to use its own standby water system. The Town of Unity public works crew had been plagued by water breaks resulting to losses of water to the town's system.

Rainault TV in Unity announced the winner of a free transistor radio for the month of March went to Mrs. Nettie Briggs of Unity.

Unity town council was seeking federal assistance in construction of a paved landing strip at the airport.

Delta Co-op was advertising 10-ounce container of instant coffee for $1.89, popping corn in a 2-pound bag for 35¢, pineapples for 45¢ each and a 2-pound watermelon for 29¢.

The Lifesaving Society held its annual Volunteer Investiture and Rescue Award ceremony, recognizing the work of Wilkie resident Carrie Glassford.

Wilkie's Farmer's Day was a fun-filled weekend for all with all events well attended.

LandsWest School Division invited Dr. Lucille Eber from Illinois to provide an information session on Wraparound in Wilkie. Wraparound was a new program to help seriously at-risk students.

KC Rescue's Corrine Thalheimer and Keri Albert were touched by the selfless donation of cat food, litter and treats as well as a monetary donation of $80 from local 10-year old Angie Middleton.

The Unity Canada Post Office celebrated recent renovations with a Customer Appreciation Day.

The Unity/Cut Knife Midget A Tier II Lazers became provincial champions with a victory over Estevan at a tournament in Kyle.
