On Monday, March 17, 2025 Dean "Toast" Andrew Wapass passed away at the age of 63 years in North Battleford, Saskatchewan. 

Dean “Toast” Andrew Wapass was a quiet man. He loved the outdoors and taking walks. He had his own special handshakes with the grandchildren when they came over to visit and he had a special bond with his nephew Evan Crookedneck and his niece Sara Crookedneck. Dean used to like driving around and had a love for carpentry. He was also an electrician. Dean’s favourite sport was baseball and he used to play with the T.C. Clippers as their pitcher. His favourite team to watch was the Toronto Blue Jays. You could often find him watching their games on tv. 

Dean is survived by his daughters Amanda Wapass (Hugh), Tanya Dawson (Josh), and Kimberly Wapass; siblings Rodney (Denise), Loretta, Norman (Patti), Sandra (Robert) and adopted sister Rose Wapass; aunties Martha Dillon and Aldina Chamakese, his lil boss lady Morningstar, Justice, as he raised her from a baby; and all his grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his parents Norman and Ida Wapass; grandparents Alexan and Annie Wapass, and Douglas and Margaret Dillon; siblings Lauraine, Larry, Donna, and Caroline; children Wendel Ernest, Kevin Wapass, and Meaghan Wapass; nephews Joseph Wapass and Cody Wapass; niece Jackie Wapass; grandchildren Zianna Curley and Aiden Armstrong; and adopted brother Carl Wapass.

A Wake began on Sunday, March 23, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at the Chief James Okanee Memorial Centre, TCFN, SK.

The Funeral Service was held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 24, 2025 at the Chief James Okanee Memorial Centre, TCFN, SK.
