Dr. Swithin (Kwong) Lee-Sing passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2025, after a long struggle with lymphoma and other complications at the age of 91 in Regina, Saskatchewan.

Born in Trinidad and Tobago, West Indies, Swithin emigrated to Washington, DC where he obtained a BSc from Howard University.  He then emigrated to Saskatoon where he obtained an MD degree from the University of Saskatchewan in 1964.

He married classmate Mamin Ramkissoon and they both served as family doctors in Canora, Saskatchewan and the surrounding districts for 35 years. They were fondly known as “Dr. M & Dr. S”.  Swithin was very dedicated to his work and his patients saw him as always hard working, sincere, thoughtful, kind and dependable.

In Canora, Swithin and Mamin raised three children and two young sisters-in-law.  He enjoyed time making memories with the family at Crystal Lake and with friends on the golf course and across a card table.  He actively participated in the community through the Kiwanis Club, the Lion’s Club, and the United Church Board.

Swithin retired from his demanding practice in 2000 and moved to Regina with Mamin.  He travelled extensively, enjoyed snow-birding in Arizona and the Caribbean for several years. He also spent time with family in Trinidad, Ontario and Brandon, Manitoba.

Son of Alexander and Iris Lee-Sing, he leaves to mourn: his wife Mamin of 61 years; their children Patricia Toth (Bradley), Curtis Lee, and Clifton Lee-Sing (Martha Roberts); grandchildren Jacob Toth, Logan Toth (Jane Sobey), Kira Toth (Kyler McCulloch), Alexa Lee, Caeden Toth and Carter Lee; great grandson Nicholas Toth; sisters June Khan and Donna Teixeira (Christopher); brother Godfrey Lee-Sing (Christine); sisters-in-law Polly Clarke, and Cintra Kanhai (Moses); and several cousins, nephews and nieces.

The family would like to thank all involved in his treatment and care.  At Swithin’s request a prayer committal and cremation ceremony were held at Speers Funeral Chapel in Regina, with a private family celebration of life and prayers to be held at a later date.
