REGINA - The City of Regina has scored an F on its 2024 budget transparency,

The report published by C.D. Howe Institute examined 32 Canadian municipalities, rating their budget and annual reports.

The site grades each city by subjects like timelessness, placement of key numbers, transparency of numbers and more.

From their findings, C.D. Howe Institute noted Regina’s budget "contained no public sector accounting standard (PSAS) consistent numbers and did not provide comprehensive numbers for its operating and capital spending."

The report noted the budget instead presented general and utility totals for each of the capital and operating budget.

Along with Regina, Gatineau, Windsor, and Hamilton also received a failing grade.

Richmond received the highest grade with an A, while Saskatoon got a B+.

This isn’t the first time Regina has gotten an F from the report, as the city received the grade in 2021.
