The USports/CCAA Canadian Curling Championships continued in Lethbridge on Wednesday.
The University of Regina men’s team, skipped by Josh Bryden, opened Wednesday falling to the Memorial Seahawks 6-3. However, in the late draw, Bryden’s foursome rebounded with a 7-3 win over the University of New Brunswick.
Bryden’s round-robin record is now 1-4, which means that he will miss the playoffs. Bryden will wrap up the round-robin with games against Lethbridge and Brock.
Meanwhile, fellow University of Regina curler Chloe Johnston also scored a one-win, one-loss day on Wednesday. In her opening game, Johnston scored a 6-4 win over McMaster but then fell 6-2 to St. Francis Xavier University in the afternoon draw.
Johnston is tied for the final playoff spot in the women’s event with a 3-2 record. Johnston wraps up the round-robin on Thursday with games against Guelph and Thompson Rivers.
