SASKATOON - A woman is facing assault charges stemming from an incident near a hospital, yesterday morning.
At approximately 9 a.m., April 3, patrol officers were dispatched to an attempted robbery in the 100 block of Hospital Drive. Upon arrival, a female suspect was found to be detained by security. Police learned that the suspect approached a man and woman as they were entering their truck in the hospital parking lot. She partially entered the vehicle in an attempt to remove the male driver, but was forcefully removed by him. A second attempt to gain entry was made by the suspect before the driver drove away.
She was later detained by security officers, following a brief foot pursuit.
The 22-year-old woman was arrested and transported to Saskatoon Police Service (SPS) Detention by patrol members. She is facing charges of assault (x2), mischief and obstruction.
