Charles John Eisler, 82, of Houston, Texas peacefully passed away in his sleep on December 26, 2013 after a long illness. Charles was born October 26, 1931 in Manor, son of the late John Eisler and Anna Eisler.
Charles lived a full life full of various jobs and interests. After leaving Manor in 1951 he worked as an electronics technician on the DEW line, became a naturalized US citizen and worked for NASA at the Johnson Space Center outside of Houston during the moon landings. He was then hired on at Amoco Oil's Texas City refinery as an electrician before retiring. After retirement he bought and operated a west Texas Inn along with a small irrigated farm before illness forced him to sell it.
Charles was happiest when he was building and fixing things. He built his own house in Texas, built a concrete shrimp boat (Charles enjoyed shrimping on Galveston Bay), and was constantly developing labor saving devices around his farm. He always needed to have a project in process.
Charles is predeceased by his Father, John Eisler of Manor, his Mother, Anna Eisler of Manor and his son Robert Joseph Eisler. He is survived by his son Thomas Eisler of New York, grandchildren Aiden, Andrew, and Alexis Eisler of New York, his brothers Robert Eisler of Manor and Alexander Eisler of Manor, his sister Freda Eisler of Melville, his nephews Grant Woroschuk of Melville and Karl Woroschuk of Regina, his niece Lila Eisler of Hawaii, as well as the two sons of his second wife, Paulo and Ricardo Ortega of Houston, who he raised as his own.
Charles was attended to as he passed by both Paulo and Ricardo.
Charles has been cremated and will be interred at Fernley cemetery in early summer 2014.
