Cole Ivan Eilers, (Redvers, SK) passed away peacefully on March 6, 2014 in the Royal University Hospital, Saskatoon at 12 years of age. His final days were spent surrounded by his mom and dad, sister, grandpa, aunt, uncles, and cousins who were all very precious to Cole.

Cole is survived by his parents, Jeff and Dawn Eilers; his sister Katie; grandparents, Ivan Matthewson, Gaylin Eilers, and Judy (Gerald) Horn; aunts and uncles, Gordie Matthewson, Cathy (Alain) Gaudet, and Brian (Laura) Eilers; as well as numerous cousins, extended family, friends and classmates.

He was predeceased by his grandmother Helen Matthewson, and uncle Dwight Eilers.

Cole was born on June 22, 2001 in the Redvers Health Centre. He attended Redvers School and was in grade7 at the time of his passing. School was a very important part of Cole's life, being very disappointed if he had to miss a day for any reason. Friends, family, neighbours and teachers were also very important to Cole. He possessed such a profound sense of empathy which was consistently evidenced by his genuine concern for everyone to be okay. As much as he enjoyed gifts and things, he loved nothing more than having everyone together. Cole was an avid fan of the Saskatchewan Roughriders, Toronto Maple Leafs, Red Deer Rebels (any team that his cousins or friends were playing on) and of course all things wrestling! He was the neighbourhood "watch-man", the "keeper of the red wagon" and the first person to notice if you got a new haircut or a new watch and if you were not wearing a watch there could be trouble! Cole loved the outdoors, and admired everyone's gardens and flower beds throughout the summer months. Cole was anxiously awaiting spring as Grandpa had prepared a spot in the yard for him to plant his very own garden. Helping his dad work on a company semi, or going for a ride and keeping track of who was driving which truck was always in Cole's daily schedule. Cole could spot a MACK truck miles away while on his travels! Although Cole's life would seem too short to many, those who knew him understood his quality of life far passed the amount of time he was given. Only two short months ago Cole and his family enjoyed a holiday to Disneyworld where Cole's only request was to meet Micky Mouse and that he did! Cole will be fondly remembered not for what he was taught but for the little life lessons he taught those who knew him.

As quoted from a tribute given by Heidi Magotiaux and Shanlee Gaudet"That smile and full belly laugh should remind us all to be present in the moment, and appreciate the now because tomorrow is a privilege and guaranteed to no one".

A funeral service was held for Cole on March 11th, in the Our Lady of Fatima R.C. church, Redvers with Rev. Anthony Padayatty officiating.

Pallbearers for the service were Cole's cousins, Craig, Shanlee, Brady Gaudet and Kyndal, Shayla and Austin Matthewson.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Hall Funeral Services, Redvers.

If friends so desire, donations can be made to the Saskatchewan Air Ambulance Service or the Redvers School in memory of Cole.

Be together keep me in your

Heart, I'll stay there forever."
