John Adam Zander of Kipling, and formally of Redvers and Carlyle, Saskatchewan, passed away peacefully at the Kipling Memorial Health Centre on August 24th, 2013 in his 91st year.

Born in Torquay, Saskatchewan, he was the son of Justinus and Rose Zander. In 1964 he met Joan Rollins of Regina. When they married in 1965, he not only gained a wife, but a step son, John Jones, as well. The family moved to Carlyle where Jack, as he was known to his friends and family, began a new life as a husband and parent. It was in Carlyle that Jack took up his second love: building things. An accomplished carpenter he built many fine additions to cottages at Kenosee and White Bear Lakes, as well as various farm buildings throughout the region. No job seemed too big or too small.

Jack and Joan enjoyed country drives and going to their special place in the hills for Sunday Picnics. They also made many Bus trips to Toronto and later to Stratford, Ontario to visit son John and wife Doris and their growing family. Jack especially liked to read stories to his three grandchildren.

Jack was predeceased by his beloved wife Joan in 2011. He was a loving stepfather and role model to John and Doris. A special grandfather to Jonathan Jones and his wife Heather of Stratford and their children Avery and Gavin; Kyle Jones and his partner Amie Andela, also of Stratford and Ashley Jones, currently living in Rome, Italy.

Dear brother to Roy Zander of Redvers, Nestor and Marjorie Zander of Regina, sisters Mary Tasker of Redvers, Kay and Tillie Daku of Kipling, Rosie Zander of Macoun and Annie Sylvestre of Winnipeg. Besides his parents, Jack was predeceased by his brothers, Adam, Joe, Tony, Billie and his sisters Helen and Betty

Jack enjoyed a warm relationship with members of the Rollins family who welcomed him into their family. Also survived by many nieces and nephews and their families.

Cremation has already taken place. A private family memorial will be held at a later date. Special thanks to the kind and caring staff at Willowdale Lodge for looking after our special father, grandfather and great grandfather for us, we always knew he was in good hands. Thank you to the staff at the Kipling Memorial Health Centre for making Jack's final journey so peaceful.

Our dad will be sadly missed and always remembered with love.
