Laurence Arthur Dennis

Laurence Arthur Dennis, eldest son of Arthur and Audrey Dennis of Parkman was born September 22, 1918 in Manor Sask. and passed away September 24, 2014 in Carlyle Sask.

Laurence attended school at Bellhouse School. During his teens he played Hockey and was a member of the Parkman 4-H Calf Club and Wawota Grain Club. Later in life he curled, golfed and fished.

Laurence married Eustina (Teenie) Stager on Oct 16, 1940. In November of that year Laurence went to Vancouver to attend Brisbane Aviation School to learn aero-engine and airframe overhaul. Later they moved to Winnipeg where he worked for Canadian Airlines. They returned to the farm in 1945 and farmed with his Dad growing grain and raising cattle. He was a smart and successful farmer and farmed for nearly 50 years before selling to the Petersons and moving to Lions Pride Estates in Carlyle. Teenie passed away in January 2001. In 2002 he married Hilda Cairns who passed away in 2010.

Laurence always supported local communities, was a member of Wawota Wildlife Federation where he made outstanding contributions to fundraising and Habitat Trust, was a long time member of The Saskatchewan Wheat Pool and Parkman Hall Committee.

Laurence was predeceased by his Father Arthur, Mother Audrey, Wife Teenie and second wife Hilda, Brothers Raymond and Russel. He leaves to mourn his passing; his sisters Alice Dennis, Lynda ( Wayne ) Paxman and Irene Wilkinson. Brothers David ( Elma ) Ken and Keith Dennis and sister-in-law Dorothy Dennis and numerous nieces and nephews.

Laurence's ashes were interred at All Saints Cannington Manor graveyard with Orsted Funeral Home in care of arrangements and Rev Michelle Moore officiating at his graveside service.
