Nelswaspredeceasedby 听Florence,hislovingwifeof60yearsin2008andhissonRossin1968. Hewasthelastsurvivingmemberofhisfamily,havinglosthisBrotherGordonDunn,andSisters EvelynCalcutt,MargeHawesandEdna Calcuttinpreviousyears.

Nelsservedhiscountry asa WorldWar2 Veteranandwasoverseasforfiveyearsseeingaction inHolland,FranceandGermany. 听Duringthistimehedrovetruck 听toprovidesuppliestothe frontline.Uponcominghomehesettledintotruckingandraisinghisfamily 听withhiswife Florence.听 听TheFamilybusiness,DunnTransport,broughthimfrom听 Wolseley 听toCarlylein1954 andovertheyearshebecameveryinvolvedinallaspectsofthecommunity.听 听Nelsservedon TownCouncilfor20yearsandformanyyearswasactivelyinvolvedwiththeUnited Church, Legion,MemorialHall,HousingAuthority,RinkboardsandBuildingcommittees.Nelswasvery proud 听tohavethefamilybusinessflourishandcontinuetoberunbyhissonsandgrandsons.
