DECHAINE: Ross James CD, 60 of Grand Lake, NS passed away peacefully July 30, 2013 at the QE II Centennial Building with my family at my side.
Born in Regina, Saskatchewan, I was the eldest son of the late John and Lynette (Lovering) Dechaine of Stoughton, Saskatchewan. At an early age I entered the military and I had a very successful career in the Canadian Armed Forces, serving for 20 years with postings in Manitoba (Portage La Prairie, Winnipeg), Nova Scotia (HMCS Iroquois), Europe (Lahr, W. Germany) and Alberta (Edmonton).
After all that movement, I decided to follow my wife's wishes to retire and reside in her beloved province of Nova Scotia. My retirement was short lived, as I became an employee with Canada Post Corporation and worked for this organization until my official retirement in September 2012.
I leave behind my lovely wife of 34 years, Mary Alice (Robbins) Dechaine; sisters - Judy (Garth) Graham, Stoughton, Saskatchewan, Doris (Kent) Bilokreli, Yorkton, Saskatchewan; brother - John (Jocelyn) Dechaine, Gimli, Manitoba; sister-in-law - Margaret (Angus) Weeks, Wilmot, Nova Scotia, as well as their families.
By my wishes, there will be no memorial service and I will be cremated with a private interment held at a later date in Saskatchewan. In lieu of flowers and donations, I wish everyone to make every effort to enjoy your life, your friendships and the most precious of all possessions - your family.
