Update: Blowing snow caused problems on southeast highways

SOUTHEAST SASKATCHEWAN - Travel was not recommended on a number of highways in southeast Saskatchewan on Friday.

According to the Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure's Highway Hotline, motorists were asked to avoid a number of highways Friday morning and into the afternoon. As of 4 p.m. Friday afternoon, travel was still not recommended on Highway 9 from Carlyle to the junction with Highway 361. 

Other highways in the southeast were listed as covered, partially covered or bare-dry. Visibility was reduced or poor in some areas. 

A blowing snow advisory was in effect for the southeast. 

Drivers are urged to check for the latest information.
