ESTEVAN – The B&T Gun Show is set to return to the Wiley-Mitchell Hall on March 22-23, with new vendors and a strong focus on community support.
“We got a full house with some new vendors this year,” said event organizer Kevin Thompson. “We have about 24 vendors this year. We have got three new vendors, ones that have never been to our show before.”
The show will feature a variety of firearms, ammunition, reloading supplies, hunting gear and more.
“There’ll be lots of firearms there. There’ll be lots of ammo there,” said Thompson. “We also have one person that’s selling baking, the same one from last year. There will also be a canteen there this year again.”
Proceeds from this year’s event will support the Estevan Humane Society.
“I decided to go to the Estevan Humane Society because a lot of these non-profit organizations, they need some help,” said Thompson. “It’s always nice to donate the funds somewhere, and I just decided to donate it to the Estevan Humane Society this year.”
The event runs from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on March 22 and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on Sunday, with a $5 admission fee. Thompson encouraged locals to attend:
“Come on down to the Estevan gun show, and, yeah, the proceeds are going to a worthy cause.”
Thompson also noted that with U.S. President Donald Trump’s tariff threat pending, the gun show might be a great opportunity to meet people’s needs.
“With these new tariffs that Mr. Trump from the United States is putting on Canada, things are only going to get more expensive now,” Thompson said. “So, if you're planning on buying something, the best time is to buy it now, because when it comes to buying ammo, buying firearms, if it's an American company, they're going to be jacking up probably a 25 per cent tariff on that.”
