Candidate seeking re-election as Estevan trustee on Cornerstone board

Kevin Keating is wrapping up his first term as the Estevan trustee on the Cornerstone board.

ESTEVAN - Kevin Keating is officially seeking another term as one of the two Estevan trustees on the South East Cornerstone Public School Division's board. 

Keating filed his nomination papers Thursday at Estevan city hall. He is the first person to file papers for an Estevan trustee position on the Cornerstone board. 

Keating is wrapping up his first term as an Estevan trustee on the Cornerstone board. He brings 15 years of school board experience to the position, having previously served as the Cornerstone board representative for Subdivision 4, which includes Bienfait, Lampman, Alameda and Oxbow.

Eric McCrimmon, who is wrapping up his first term as the other Estevan trustee on the Cornerstone board, has previously stated he won't seek re-election.

There are also two Estevan trustee positions on the Holy Family Roman Catholic Separate School Division board. Nobody has filed papers for those roles as of yet.

The tally for Estevan city council remains at three candidates, as of Thursday at 4 p.m. Coun. Tony Sernick has filed his nomination papers for mayor. Coun. Shelly Veroba and newcomer Robin Wog have filed papers for councillor. 

The deadline to file a nomination paper is Oct. 9 at 4 p.m. 

The civic election is slated for Nov. 13.
