Energy City Ex. will feature four days of entertainment

ESTEVAN - There will be four days of fun and entertainment in Estevan with this year's edition of the Energy City Ex.

The event is organized by the Estevan Exhibition Association and will be held at the exhibition grounds. The schedule for the event, supplied by the Estevan Exhbition Association, is as follows:

Thursday, June 8:

  • Beer gardens open at 3 p.m.
  • Midway courtesy of West Coast Amusements and quilt show begin at 4 p.m.
  • The annual SMILE Services Parade is at 4:30 p.m.
  • Kids Rodeo at 6:30 p.m.

Friday, June 9:

  • Qualifier rodeo begins at 10 a.m.
  • Beer gardens opens at 2 p.m.
  • Quilt show and West Coast Amusements midway open at 4 p.m.
  • KCRA Rodeo begins at 6 p.m.
  • Live music at 9 p.m.

Saturday, June 10:

  • Qualifier rodeo at 10 a.m.
  • King of the Prairies open steer and heifer jackpot, presented by the Benson 4-H Beef Club, at noon.
  • Quilt show and West Coast Amusements midway open at noon.
  • Live stage at 1 p.m.
  • Beer gardens at 1:30 p.m.
  • Rodeo Queen is crowned at 4 p.m.
  • KCRA Rodeo at 5 p.m.
  • Cabaret with Brad Johner and the Johner Boys at 9 p.m.

Sunday, June 11: 

  • Pancake breakfast and cowboy church service at 9 a.m.
  • Qualifier rodeo at 10 a.m.
  • Quilt Show and West Coast Amusements midway at noon;
  • KCRA rodeo at 2 p.m. 

Food booths and trucks will be available when the grounds are open. 

The parade will start in southwest Estevan. It will work its way down First Street and travel past Hill View Manor. Then it will head north on 14th Avenue, east on Fourth Street, north on Souris Avenue North, west on Fifth Street, north on 13th Avenue and east on Eighth Street, ending at the exhibition grounds. 

The theme for this year's parade is Celebrating Family Day at the Energy City Ex. 

There will be family day admission on Thursday and Sunday, with adults and students getting in for $5 each. It will be $15 for adults and $10 for students on Friday and Saturday. 

Those who are five and under will get in for free all four days. 

Cash only at the gate.
