ESTEVAN - The Estevan Police Service made a number of arrests on Tuesday, and officers are also investigating a recent theft.
Police received a report of a theft of property. A 61-year-old Estevan man was subsequently arrested and charged with possession of property obtained by crime. He was released on conditions and will appear in court at a later date.
Members conducted a conditions check, which resulted a 21-year old man being charged for failing to comply with his court-ordered release terms.
Police attended to a residence in central Estevan following a report of an assault. As a result of the incident, a 43-year-old Estevan man was arrested and charged. He was released on conditions and is scheduled to make his first appearance in Estevan Provincial Court in September.
Officers are investigating the theft of road signs from a construction zone near First Street and Souris Avenue South. The EPS is asking that anyone with information call 306-634-4767 or Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
An alarm call came in from a local business. Members attended and determined that the building was secure.
Police were dispatched to a dispute in central Estevan. Members located all parties involved and mediated the situation. The youths who were involved were transported home to their parents.
Members received a report of several semi-trailer units driving slowly and swerving on a highway coming into Estevan. Police conducted a traffic stop with one of the vehicles and the driver was warned of his actions.
Police received a report Monday of a possible impaired driver travelling towards Estevan from Bienfait. The vehicle was located and members conducted a traffic stop. A roadside test was completed and the driver was found to be sober.
Officers received a report of a stolen bicycle. The matter is under investigation.
Police received a report of motorists not obeying construction traffic signs. The EPS reminds the public to obey all signage and detours through construction areas.
Officers received a report of a fraud for income tax benefits. The matter is under investigation.
Police were dispatched to a complaint of a male causing a disturbance at a local business. He had departed prior to police arrival. The matter is under investigation.
A report was received of a possible impaired driver travelling in the city. The vehicle was located and members conducted a traffic stop. The driver was found to be sober following a roadside test.
Police received a report of dogs barking. The owners were spoken to and the dogs were taken inside the residence.
