ESTEVAN - Members of the Estevan Mermaids artistic swimming club were in Regina from April 11-13 for the Sadie Caulder Knight Provincial Championship.
The event kicked off with the figures portion of the meet. In the 10-and-under (10U) limited division, Ciara Schell came in second. Tylee Picton was seventh and Laikynn Shier was ninth.
In the 12U limited, Sophia Viba was sixth, Ella Biette was seventh, Jillianne Velasquez came in 15th, Ava Story was 17th and Brooklyn Saxon finished 19th.
Four Mermaids were in the top 10 for novice, with Eva Meyers in fifth, followed by Brinley Groenveld (sixth), Kayden Pukas (seventh) and Lexington Beaudry (ninth).
Lainey Halkyard was third and Ava Collomb was fourth in youth limited.
In youth with exhibition, Rowyn Shier was 10th. Also competing were Sierra Mantei (16th), Ava Donison (22nd), Isabelle Pyra (25th), Mahaley Fonstad (29th) and Rory Miller (38th).
In routines, Rowyn Shier won a bronze medal in junior solo with a score of 84.1663, and Sierra Mantei also won bronze in junior solo tech with a score of 131.8292.
In junior duet free, Sarah Greening and Sarah Pyra won gold at 74.3542.
Taking top spot in youth limited duet free were Ava Collomb and Lainey Halkyard with a routine score of 52.8638 and a championship total of 119.9554.
In novice duet free, Eva Meyers and Lexington Beaudry were second with a routine tally of 61.9392 and a championship total of 133.5481.
As for team competitions, Ciara Schell, Laikynn Shier and Tylee Picton were second, with a routine score of 50.5333 and a championship score of 111.9084.
Ava Story, Brooklyn Saxon, Ella Biette, Jillianne Velasquez and Sophia Vibe earned a first-place finish in 12U limited team free, with a routine score of 63.0937 and a championship total of 127.4137.
In youth team free, Ava Donison, Brinley Groenveld, Isabelle Pyra, Kayden Pukas, Mahaley Fonstad, Rory Miller, Rowyn Shier and Sierra Mantei won bronze with a routine score of 92.9442 and a championship total of 185.8566.
