ESTEVAN — The Estevan Police Service (EPS) executed search warrants at five locations in Estevan with the assistance of the Joint Tactical Support Team (JTST), RCMP International Border Enforcement Team (IBET) and the Weyburn Police Service (WPS).
These warrants stemmed from an investigation led by the EPS Drug Unit, resulting in four people being arrested. Police seized one kilogram of cocaine, 50 grams of methamphetamine, two rifles, a Ford F150 (offence-related property) and approximately $8,000 in Canadian currency. The street value of the illicit drugs that were recovered exceeds $150,000.
As a result of this investigation, Cody Klyne (38 years of age, Estevan); Devon Martell (35 years of age, Estevan); Brennan McKeen (41 years of age, Estevan) and Jessica McKeen (37 years of age, Estevan) were charged with the following:
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – ocaine
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine
- Traffic a schedule I substance – cocaine
- Traffic a schedule I substance – methamphetamine
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
The above accused persons have been remanded in custody and will make their first appearance in Estevan Provincial Court on Aug. 12.
Increased police presence was reported on Friday in the 1700 block of Third Street, SWAT members were also spotted in other areas of the city. EPS said there was no threat to the public.
