REDVERS - The Redvers Rockets have taken a 1-0 lead in their best-of-five Big Six Hockey League semifinal series with the Oxbow Huskies.
The top-ranked Rockets defeated the No. 5 Huskies 5-3 Feb. 17 in Redvers in Game 1. Oxbow had a 3-2 lead at one point early in the second period, but Redvers fought back to tie before the period was out and added two in the third.
Koltyn Miller, Kenton Miller, Travis Poirier, Drew Hoff and Corey Millette scored for Redvers. Cody Matthewson was in goal.
Cody Davis, Tayce Miller and Colton Schell had Oxbow's goals. Cody Levesque was the goalie.
Game 2 is set for Feb. 19 in Oxbow and Game 3 is Feb. 25 in Redvers. Game 4, if necessary, would be March 4 in Oxbow and Game 5 would be two nights later in Redvers.
The dates are also set in the other semifinal series between the No. 2 Moosomin Rangers and the No. 3 Carlyle Cougars. The series is set to start Feb. 22 in Moosomin. Game 2 is March 1 in Carlyle and Game 3 would be the following night in Moosomin. Game 4, if necessary, would be March 5 in Carlyle and Game 5 would be March 8 in Moosomin.

In Hockey Saskatchewan provincials, the Cougars' quest for the senior A provincial title came to an end against the Raymore Rockets.
The Cougars held a 1-0 series lead in the best-of-three series with Raymore after a 6-5 win on Feb. 9, but Raymore tied the series with a 6-1 win on Feb. 14, and wrapped up the series with another 6-1 win two days later. Games 2 and 3 were played in Raymore.
Riley Niven had the Cougars' lone goal in Game 2. Curtis Meger was in goal.

In senior C, the Huskies lost 3-1 to Assiniboia in Game 1 of their best-of-three series. Cody Davis had Oxbow's only goal in Game 1. Cody Levesque was in goal.
Game 2 is Feb. 22 in Oxbow at 7:30 p.m. Game 3, if necessary, would be the following day at 4 p.m., also in Oxbow.
The Redvers Rockets will start their quest for provincials when they host Milestone in a Senior D south semifinal on Feb 21 in Redvers at 8 p.m. Game 2 is Feb. 28 in Milestone and Game 3 would be two nights later in Redvers at 6 p.m.
