ESTEVAN - Members of the Rotary Club of Estevan and local 4-H clubs were out on Tuesday night for the annual spring highway cleanup.
Thirty-five people volunteered to remove garbage from the ditches along Highway 47, from the south junction with Highway 18 to a service road south of the city.
Cans, coffee cups, water bottles, chip bags and random plastic pieces were the items most frequently collected, and fewer glass beer bottles were found than in previous years.
After finishing their work, the volunteers gathered at Rotary Park inside Woodlawn Regional Park to enjoy a supper supplied by Estevan Bowl.
