Two people arrested for breaching release conditions in Estevan

Latest news from the Estevan Police Service include several arrests, disturbance calls and RID calls.

ESTEVAN — Estevan Police Service dealt with a total of 53 calls for service over the weekend of Dec. 27-29.

A 41-year-old woman was arrested on outstanding charges for failing to comply with her release conditions on Dec. 29. She was released with a court date in January to speak to her charges.

The same day, a 40-year-old man was arrested for breaching his conditions of release when he was found out past his curfew. He was later released to appear in court in February.

Police responded to a report of a disturbance at a south-end apartment building. Members were able to mediate a resolution for the evening.

EPS also received a report of a possible intoxicated woman walking down the middle of 13th Ave in the 900 block. Police attended and were unable to locate the woman.

Police responded to two disturbances in the Hillside area of the city. On both occasions, police had limited ability to mediate a resolution.

On Dec. 27, the EPS received a report of an impaired driver (RID) call. The vehicle description and last direction of travel were provided; however, the vehicle was not located. The RCMP was informed as the vehicle left north of the city.

Members were also dispatched to a residence for a report of a father and son disagreeing. A 22-year-old man from Estevan was arrested and charged with Mischief under $5,000 and will appear in court in January to speak to those charges.

Police responded to a residence for a noise complaint. The homeowner was warned of the bylaw.

Police received a report of a suspicious vehicle behind a local business. They located the vehicle and spoke to its occupants. It was a group of youth playing hide-and-seek in their vehicles.

Police received a report of a suspicious woman in the downtown core. She was described as not being properly dressed and high on drugs. Members attended but were unable to locate her.

Police received a noise bylaw complaint in the Trojan subdivision. Members attended and warned the tenant.

Police received a RID call on Dec. 28. Members located the vehicle, the driver provided a sample of breath on an approved screening device, and was determined to be not impaired.

Police also received a report of a disturbance in a south-end neighbourhood. Members attended and were unable to locate anyone in the area that was causing a disturbance.
