Roast pork supper, cribbage tournament set for Wheatland

A pancake breakfast will be held at Wheatland on Sunday, March 26, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The Wheatland Seniors Centre hosted a bridge tournament, with 42 players from throughout the southeast participating.

WEYBURN - A number of special events, including the month-end supper, a cribbage tournament and a pancake breakfast, are all coming up at the Wheatland Seniors Centre.

The month-end supper, featuring roast pork loin, will be held on Friday, March 17 at 5:30 p.m.

A cribbage tournament is set for Saturday, March 18, with a cost of $20 for a team of two. The registration deadline is today, March 15.

A pancake breakfast will be held at Wheatland on Sunday, March 26, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The cost is $10 per person.

Pool players are invited to come play snooker at the Wheatland Monday to Friday, at a cost of 50 cents per game for members, or 75 cents for non-members. On Saturdays, contact Gary Wing at 306-842-3839 to open the centre.

Bingo is held every Thursday at 1 p.m. Slider cards are 50 cents each.

In games held at Wheatland from March 6-10, the following are the results.

The winners of Spades are Ernie Lokken in first, Rose Levesque in second, and Marge Schultz in third.

In canasta, Trina Maas won first; Joan Gregory was second; Lavine Stepp placed third; Ida Offet was fourth; and Pat Peterson came in fifth.

The winners of Kaiser were Alice Schneider and Lavine Stepp in first; Marge Schultz and Faye Johnson in second; Jean Knibbs and Betty Knibbs in third; and Ruth Boren and Robert Scott in fourth.

In Thursday cribbage, Marge Schultz and Faye Johnson won first; Shirley Hubbs and Theresa Istace came second; and Emily Stadler and Gerry Thompson placed third.

The winners of shuffleboard were Joe Byers and Ray Boucher in first; Yvette Bauche and Ron Frayn in second; and Mel Schindel and Kathryn Groshong in third.
