Locals talents and venue among the finalists for SaskMusic awards

Last Birds, Jeff D. Michel and the Happy Nun Cafe are all finalists for this year's honours.

REGINA - The finalists for the 2022 Saskatchewan Music Awards are out, and included are some finalists from the southeast.

The Estevan area is well represented for Roots/Folk Artist of the Year. Last Birds and Jeff D. Michel are both up for the honour.

The other finalists are Graham Tilsley, Kara Golemba, Megan Nash, and Jake Vaadeland & the Sturgeon River Boys.

Meanwhile, the Happy Nun Café is in the running for Venue or Festival of the Year. Other finalists are Creative City Centre, SaskTel Saskatchewan Jazz Festival, Bushwakker Brewing Company, Capitol Music Club and The Exchange.

The finalists in numerous different categories were announced on Thursday. Winners will be announced Dec. 11 in Regina.
