ESTEVAN - Members of the Estevan Police Service made a couple of arrests on Friday night.
As a result of a traffic stop in the downtown area, a 24-year-old man from Ontario was charged with impaired driving and operation of a conveyance while over .08. His driver’s licence has been suspended, and his vehicle impounded. He was lodged in cells and will be released to appear in court at a later date.
Also on Friday, members arrested a 44-year-old man for uttering threats to cause death after a complaint of an assault on Third Street. He was lodged in cells until sober and will be released with conditions to attend court in November to answer to the charge.
Police attended to a disturbance at a licensed establishment in which one male received injuries. The matter is still under investigation.
Members received a request to attend St. Joseph's Hospital on Oct. 16, as there was an individual loitering. Police attended and the individual had been discharged but their ride home refused to come pick them up due to the time. Police arranged to get the individual home.
Police were called to a downtown business to a report of individuals on the roof. Members attended and determined there was nobody on the roof of the business.
Members received a report of a loud stereo. Police attended and were able to warn the property owner under the bylaw.
Police attended to a disturbance on King Street near the 7-11 on Oct. 17. The parties were not getting along and alleging that an assault had occurred. The individuals were separated for the evening and an assault investigation is ongoing.
