Horse-drawn sleigh rides in Pangman December 17

Pangman (cpd) - The Pangman SCC will be sponsoring a horse-drawn sleigh ride on Friday, Dec. 17, right after school. Everyone who is interested in going on a sleigh ride are asked to meet on Main Street at the Community Centre.

Pangman (cpd) - The Pangman SCC will be sponsoring a horse-drawn sleigh ride on Friday, Dec. 17, right after school. Everyone who is interested in going on a sleigh ride are asked to meet on Main Street at the Community Centre. Albert Hanson from Hardy will be bringing in his team and sleigh and his partner Daryl Rowland from Ceylon will help drive the team. Following the sleigh rides, there will be fire pits going with hot chocolate, hot dogs and marshmallows for everyone.

There was no school for the Pangman School on Nov. 26 due to three-way conferences being held.

The Pangman School bazaar will be held at the school gym on Saturday, Dec. 4, from 9:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. Tables can be booked for $10. Contact persons are Aime (Brad) Nyhus of Ceylon or Kim Nyhus at the Pangman Co-op store. Lunch will be available. All proceeds will go to the Grade 12 graduation.

Vi Kessler, Margaret Leonard and Bob Morrow went to Moose Jaw on Nov. 20 to participate in their bridge tournament.

Matthew Kessler came to visit from Saskatoon on the weekend of Nov. 20. He visited with his parents and also spent some time hunting.

Cody Kessler and his son Riley, from Nebraska, arrived in Pangman on Nov. 24 to visit with Cody's mother, Darlene Kessler, and other family members.

A scooter was purchased for the Home and will be used by their activity director Debbie Kessler. The scooter was purchased from the money that was donated by the community during February's Rock-A-Thon and also money donated from the Ladies Auxiliary.

Seven residents of Sunnyview Place played their five-pin bowling tournament on Nov. 24 with Ruth Barlett volunteering her time to help. First place for the ladies went to Ada Murray with a score of 108. Alfred Rederberg placed first for the men with a score of 78 points.

On Nov. 25, the Old Kids on the Block came to Sunnyview Place to entertain the residents.

Pangman will be celebrating their 100th birthday in August 2011. There will be hooded sweatshirts, pins, T-shirts, etc. available at the school bazaar on Dec. 4. There are a variety of colors and sizes.

The Pangman, Khedive and Parry community calendars are back from the printers and can be picked up at the Pangman School bazaar on Dec. 4.

Word was received on Nov. 25 of the passing of Fred Fields of the Bengough nursing home. Fred and his wife Susan Allenby were both residents of the Deep South Personal Care Home before they moved to Bengough, where they both passed away.

The Ladies Auxiliary are sponsoring a Christmas dinner hamper which will be drawn on Dec. 18. This includes a turkey, vegetables and all of the fixings. The cost is $2 for one ticket or three for $5.

The baked beans and soup meal held at the Community Centre was well attended. The Holy Angels Catholic Church sponsored this event with the proceeds going to Monica Wilson to help cover her cancer treatment that are not covered by the health services.

Rosemary (Sheppard) Flaaten from Calgary, Alta., formerly from Pangman will be holding a book signing for her new book called "Women and her Working Place - Building Healthy Relationships" from 9-5 at the Weyburn Public Library, Wed., Dec. 8 from 1:30-3 p.m.
