Construction work is currently being conducted in various locations on Highway 39 from Weyburn to Estevan, which was begun in 2020, and will be ongoing for most of the season. (Shown above is work on Highway 39 from last year.)
The construction work is being done by the Coco Group of Langenburg Redi-Mix. Currently the company is in the process of removing the rubber asphalt crack sealer from Weyburn to Ralph.
The sealer must be removed prior to paving with new asphalt.
This will result in temporary rough road conditions for the next three to four weeks until the new asphalt is in place.
Grid road intersection upgrades and turning lanes are being constructed as well along the Weyburn to Estevan corridor, so during construction there will be lane restrictions and periodically work zones will be in effect while the work is underway.
The company indicated that construction is scheduled to be complete by fall 2021, depending on weather and possible delays due to government-issued health and safety guidelines related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
