WEYBURN – The Saskatchewan Oil & Gas Show board has announced that nominations are being accepted for the Southeast Oilperson of the Year and Southeast Sask. Legends awards.
The Southeast Oilperson of the Year will be presented to an individual who has been recognized as making a significant contribution to the growth and success of the industry in southeast Saskatchewan. To qualify the candidate should be based in the region. Derrick Big Eagle was the most recent recipient.
The Southeast Saskatchewan Legends Award is to recognize individuals who have contributed significantly to the industry, associations and communities in southeast Saskatchewan over the duration of their career. The most recent honourees were Ken Lee, Norm (Pierre) Mondor, Ray Frehlick, Ron Carson and Vi Day.
Criteria for this award includes at least 25 years of work in the oil and gas industry, with the majority of that time being spent in the southeast.
Nominations are due on Oct. 31, with the forms being found on the Saskatchewan Oil & Gas Show website. The recipients will be presented at the next Saskatchewan Oil & Gas Show on June 5, 2024.
