REGINA — The Regina Police Service are searching for more information following a handful of attempted home invasions that took place over the weekend, including one where a suspect entered a residence.
On Oct. 8 at 8:30 a.m., police responded to a break and enter in progress on the 3600 block of Grassick Avenue.
One adult male allegedly entered a home through the back door, after knocking and asking the woman in the home to call 911 for his grandmother.
The woman told police she was suspicious and attempted to close the door, when the suspect allegedly forced his way into the home and assaulted her. She escaped from the suspect, who left the scene before police arrived.
Two other calls reported similar incidents in the same area around the same time that morning, said police.
A male allegedly approached two other women in their homes, one by knocking on the door and requesting help and the other by approaching a woman in her garage.
“Police believe all three incidents are related to the same suspect male,” said the RPS.
Police described the suspect as an Indigenous male in his 20s, approximately 5’7” to 5’9” in height and thin. He was seen wearing a blue long-sleeved shirt, dark pants, with dark spiky hair.
According to one report, he had a bicycle in his possession.
RPS is asking anyone with information pertinent to this investigation to contact them at 1-306-777-6500 or reach out to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
