REGINA — The Regina Police service has appointed a new secondary deputy chief to its ranks, promoting a female member into the role for the first time in the service’s 130-year history.
Deputy Chief Lorilee Davies will join duties with current Deputy Chief Dean Rae into a joint position, after more than 25 years of service at the RPS.
Davies has worked in uniform and investigative divisions of the RPS, including on the Public Safety and Crisis Negotiation teams, in community and human resources and as a member of the Regina Police Association. She also developed and leads the Truth and Reconciliation Strategy for the service.
“[Deputy Chief] Davies is a thoughtful and innovative leader who will continue to strengthen the Police Service and community in her new role,” said a statement from the RPS.
