Regina starts pre-budget engagement

Residents invited to offer feedback for Regina’s first two-year budget 2023-24.

City Hall in Regina is looking for input on their first multi-year budget.

REGINA  — Residents of Regina are being invited to offer feedback on the city’s first two-year budget for 2023 and 2024. 

The city is billing the consultations as Be Heard Regina, with residents urged to go to to share thoughts on the preliminary budget development until Nov. 4. On the website people are encouraged to offer their questions or ideas on what will be Regina’s first multi-year budget. 

The city describes it in a news release as “an opportunity to identify challenges and provide input on important considerations as we finalize the proposed 2023-24 budget. Residents can also offer feedback on how potential investments align with the city’s strategic priorities.”

A summary of resident and stakeholder feedback will be provided to city council in November when the proposed budget is released. It will be used during during budget deliberations in December.

Back in May the city held its first pre-budget survey and around 1,600 residents participated. The top spending priorities identified included road construction and repair, public safety, crime and policing, and recreation, culture facilities and programs.
