WEYBURN – The top academic awards were presented at the Weyburn Comprehensive School on Monday evening, prior to the scholarships and bursaries.
The R.C. Smith General Proficiency Award went to Ben Manning. This award combines academic average and the points accumulated for extracurricular activities. Manning had an average of 85 per cent, and accumulated 100 Block W points.
The T.C. Douglas Medals, for the top averages for male and female students, went to Emersyn Jordens (average of 98.71 per cent) and Jun Lee (94 per cent).
The runner-up for the girls medal was Chanel Lanz, with an average of 98.57 per cent, and for the boys, Andrew Donald and Sidney Sidloski, who both had an average of 92 per cent.
The Tom Zandee Humanitarian Award was presented to Cooper Walbaum.
The following are the scholarships and bursaries, worth a total of $53,000, presented to Grade 12 students at the Weyburn Comp School’s awards night at the Cugnet Centre on Monday.
