SOUTHERN SASKATCHEWAN - A special air quality statement is now in effect for southern Saskatchewan.

Environment Canada issued the advisory early Monday due to smoke that is causing or expected to cause poor air quality and reduced visibility.

"Smoke from wildfires over northern Alberta is moving across southern Saskatchewan today," Environment Canada said. "This smoke may result in reduced visibility and/or poor air quality at times through the day. Conditions should improve by Tuesday morning."

Environment Canada says wildfire smoke can be harmful to everyone’s health, even at low concentrations.
