WEYBURN – The Weyburn Police Service made a drug bust on the South Hill on Friday afternoon, at a home on Third Avenue SE.
Police chief Jamie Blunden said in a brief statement, “Our drug unit members, with the assistance from the Joint Tactical Support Team and uniform members of WPS executed a CDSA search warrant.”
He indicated that two women, both in their 30’s, were arrested and charged with trafficking, possession for the purpose of trafficking, and one is also facing weapons related offences.
“The investigation is still ongoing as our K9 Unit is presently searching the residence for further evidence,” said Chief Blunden late Friday afternoon, noting there may be additional charges filed if the search turns up any more evidence.
