Pipeline News asked Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Jan. 11 about Saskatchewan getting an equivalency agreement for carbon dioxide emissions on coal-fired electrical power generation and geothermal energy. The follow-up question was on the recent protests regarding his government's energy policies that have sprung up in almost every oilpatch town in Western Canada over the past month, including a 15-kilometre long convoy that rolled through Estevan.

Trudeau was in Regina, Sask., for a town hall on Jan. 10, followed by a geothermal energy project announcement on Jan. 11.
