ASSINIBOIA - Rob Greensides was honoured and inducted into Curl Sask. Legend of Curling Hall of Fame, in the Builders Category for his work in Assiniboia Curling Club, in leading them to past provincial championships hosted here in Assiniboia.
Penny Greensides accepted the award from Steve Turner from Curl Sask at the 2023 Scotties provincial tournament.
According to a SaskCurl Facebook post: Rob was an amazing community member and curling supporter. Rob was an integral part of the success of the 2015 and, most recently, the 2022 Viterra Scotties Provincial Championships acting as Co-Chair for both of these events.
Rob's impact reached much further than just curling as he was heavily involved in the community of Assiniboia. The loss of Greener will be felt in both of these communities.
The Legends of Curling Honour Roll honours the memory of those who have brought honour and distinction to curling in Saskatchewan. It is the intention of the Legends Committee to honour the talents of Saskatchewan’s curling athletes and builders of the game as well as outstanding supporters and local legends. All facets of the Province’s Official Sport are eligible for recognition.
